Video recording apps are far from uncommon on the App Store. Video recording apps that allow users to control and record with up to 8 devices, all from one single device? Now that’s pretty special.
That’s also exactly what Video Camera offers. Besides many other great features, it lets the user connect and simultaneously record from up to eight devices, all linked across Wi-Fi.
For the aspiring film director, this is a great way of capturing all the action from numerous different angles. Film students will love this but so will people that just want to capture every adorable moment of their wedding or holiday. It’s impressive stuff.
Video Camera doesn’t lack other great features either, offering high resolution video recording and plenty of import/export options for the experienced video editing. Pretty much everything that needs to be done with video editing can be done via the app.
It’s clever stuff from Video Camera and the best part is that it’s currently free! Its normal price is $ 7.99, an ideal price for such a feature rich app.

A free video recording app that promises to stabilize videos? It’s almost worth going straight to that download button without bothering to read this. After all, there’s nothing to lose. Luma Video Camera does mostly what it promises, too. Although it lacks a few finer details, what is there makes it an ideal app to have on standby while out and about.
The key selling point for Luma Video Camera is the stabilization functionality. It works quite well, too. While shaking the device at any speed, predictably, still causes blurring, it acclimatizes well to subtle shakes. Walking around, it keeps up quite nicely making it ideal for using while out and about. It also lends itself well to those with mobility problems that cause their hands and arms to shake slightly.
This stabilizing feature does hold one restriction. It zooms the picture in slightly but it’s quite easy for the user to adapt accordingly and back off from their target.
Other features are of the kind we’ve come to expect from video production tools. It’s possible to set the focus and exposure manually, as well as zoom further into the image. Some simple filters can also be added quickly with a swipe of the screen. They’re not exceptional but they are functional and useful in conjunction with the rest of the app.
That pretty much sums up Luma Video Camera nicely. It’s simple to use with nothing that’s awe-inspiringly different but it all works smoothly and effectively. As a replacement to the stock video recording app, Luma Video Camera fills the gap perfectly, even despite its ability to share directly to Facebook or Twitter. At the grand price of nothing, it’s not a hard decision to make when it comes to whether to ‘buy’ it.
Sometimes when you want to send someone a message on your iPhone you want more than just text. You could call, but you really don’t have time for that and a quick video message seems to be the perfect compromise. While there are plenty of options for creating video messages on iOS, none of them are as simple or elegant as Ravid.
Ravid allows users to quickly and easily record a video, then send it with one click. The service integrates seamlessly with your existing contacts list, and requires no additional sign-ins or special accounts necessary. Also, the messages created can be sent to anyone with a smartphone, so you aren’t limited to only sending them to other Ravid users. So what we have here is a simple, free video messaging solution that requires no extra steps and works across all platforms. First off, why didn’t this exist already? And second, why on earth would you not want to have it on your phone right now?
FaceTime is great for casual video conferencing use but for more professional purposes, a dedicated solution is a better idea. That’s precisely where Fuze Meeting HD enters the equation.
Initially free, Fuze Meeting HD offers online meetings and audio conferencing between two participants. In-app purchases priced at $ 29.99 or $ 69.99 then unlocks the ability to communicate with more participants at once.
With the iPad 2, live video can be sent during a video conference with everything viewable in HD. PowerPoint and Keynote presentations can be added, along with Word documents, PDFs and images all possible to add to the Fuze Meeting content library. Meetings can all be simply arranged via the iPad address book for further useful functionality.
When in a call, it’s easy to zoom and pan in, and it’s especially handy to be able to close the app and open other apps without ending the meeting.
It’s a simple yet effective solution for business people in need of regular collaboration while on the move. Fuze Meeting HD is out now.

Game Your Video is an app that allows user to apply effects to videos in real time.

Game Your Video: the name does not really encompass what it is or what it does. Essentially, it’s a video editor that allows for effects to be added on the fly. Instagram-esque filters can be added to the video, allowing for a colorful faux-retro look, including black & white and sepia-toned effects. Then, a variety of effects can be added to the video as it plays, and this is where the Game part of the title comes in. Sets of four buttons appear at the bottom of the screen, with additional effects available by swiping on the bottom of the screen, and users activate the effects exactly when they want them at that point in the video. Effects include slow-mo, shake, ghosting echo effects, rapid zooming, pixeliization, and more. Users can also add audio effects, and add their own voice or songs from their library to the video.
Most impressively, these effects aren’t just things that can be addeed to videos already in the Camera Roll. No, Game Your Video wcan add these effects live to videos being recorded directly in the app itself, even on the iPod touch 4th generation. The app’s focus on adding effects on the fly gives it a different entertainment quality than other apps that are primarily about post-processing. Videos can be shared with Facebook and YouTube, and saved to the Camera Roll.
The app is sadly not universal, which is a disappointment because the iPad 2 does have a camera, after all. It isn’t possible to edit the effects in videos recorded live. The interface seems to make it hard to get back to the main menu from recording a video live without quitting the app and clearing it out from the multitasking bar. It’s possible to view other people’s videos shared with the service, but it’s never really explained how to share videos within the app this way. In fact, many of the icons in the app are never quite clear as to what their function is.
Game Your Video’s live video effects make it a very interesting app; for those looking for the Instagram of videos, this might just be it. It’s certainly an entertaining use of $ 0.99.
U-verse has released an app for subscribers to their TV and high-speed internet service that brings both control of their receiver, along with access to on demand video. By downloading AT&T U-verse for iPad and logging in to the user’s AT&T U-verse account, the app’s functions become available.
The app’s first function is to serve as a remote for a U-verse receiver. By setting up the U-verse receiver by turning to channel 9301 and enabling remote device access, it can then be discovered by the app. The app offers virtual remote buttons for changing the channel, rewind/fast-forward controls for recordings and live TV, pause/record buttons, and all the other basic commands available on the U-verse remote. As well, the app has an easy-access guide with the ability to quickly jump to the channel, and to record future programs easily. Receivers can be independently named and controlled, so it’s possible for multiple iPads to control different TVs in a house.
For those who have a secondary router on their network to extend their network or because of device incompatibility (AirPlay to an Apple TV has issues with the U-verse router in particular) will need to connect to the U-verse router directly, as even having both devices on the same secondary router will not work.
The app also offers on-demand video from U-verse’s on-demand selection that can actually be watched on the iPad itself. These videos can be watched anywhere, not just on the U-verse network. It ironically also supports AirPlay to a TV, which may explain just why the AirPlay protocol has issues with U-verse routers. The app does have the notable lack of any kind of live TV – especially considering that Comcast launched their own iPad app with live TV just a month ago.
Still, this app should make it much easier for U-verse users to control their TV and watch the content they want, thanks to the touch interface provided by the app. AT&T U-verse for iPad is available now.
