I had a good amount of fun with the original release of Monster Shooter. It was a solid twin-stick shooter with a few minor issues, most of which have been addressed with updates, but it did have one major drawback. I’m referring to the ads, naturally. I mean it is a freemium title.
But just in case anyone considered the advertisements to be too much of a bother, Gamelion has been working on a new-ish paid version. Monster Shooter: The Lost Levels does away with the pesky pop-ups, sure, but there’s a bit more to it than that. More meaning more enemies, more levels, and more guns. For those keeping scor this puts the bullet point tally up to 60 levels, 12 weapons, 100+ missions, 3 planets, and 80+ Game Center achievements.
Having messed around with it a bit already, I can attest to the wonderful lack of ads. Personally I think that alone makes it worth the asking price. But it also seems to be a bit more generous with the cash (which could just be my imagination). Either way, it’s available on the App Store right now for $ 0.99. Assuming nobody’s dumped a bunch of real money into the freemium purchases, it should definitely be worth the trade up from free to paid.

The Heist, an iPhone puzzle game with a prize at the end, has released its 1.1 update. Most important to the new update is new loot! The game now includes two more Steam codes to redeem games
Feeling a bit of deja vu? That’s because it was less than a week ago that Jennifer Allen
Blogsy, popular iPad blogger tool, has been updated with a long list of 19 new features and numerous bug fixes.
Jetpack Joyride‘s 1.3 update is still in the works, and Halfbrick continues to roll out teaser trailers showing off some of the new gadgets that will be made available. The latest animated teaser is for the Gravity Belt. While its effects are still somewhat unknown, it appears as if gravity will greatly increase while using this belt. Will this make it easier to fall to the floor when up high, helping those runs go up even longer? We’ll soon learn just what exactly it does, as the update is scheduled to hit this month. The only other of the 15 total gadgets revealed so far are the Air Barrys and the Freeze-O-Matic, each with their own teaser trailer. Any two Gadgets will be usable together, though they will unlock in tiers of three each. So until this major update finally hits, keep collecting those coins, and get ready for the Gadget onslaught.
As baseball season begins to ramp up it’s critical for coaches to keep a close eye on their pitchers. Practice sessions need to be tightly controlled in order to prevent overuse injuries and make the most of the allotted time, and it can be hard to keep things straight with so many guys in the rotation. Thankfully, Baseball Bullpen has received a new update that will make life a bit easier on coaches.
Infinity Blade 2 just got infinitely more resolute. The app has been updated to support the Retina Display on the new iPad. This means that exacting revenge on the God King just started looking more godly. Saving the Worker of Secrets looks less like work, and more like the party! The series has always been known for pushing Apple hardware to the limit, especially as the game and its engine has been featured at multiple iOS product announcements. As well, the game will take advantage of the additional RAM and processor speed, maintaining the smooth experience seen on the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. There is no word if the original will receive a similar update for the iPad 3. As well, the ClashMobs feature is coming next month, which will have players working together asynchronously to complete challenges. As well, the game will boast new items, enemies, and most importantly, weapons. In the meanwhile, the Retina Display update is available now.
Even with all the praise the Infinity Blade series has gotten since its introduction, there’s usually one major complaint people have: there’s no freedom of movement. A rather silly gripe seeing as open-world style exploration isn’t the point (plus it would be ridiculously taxing on the hardware with those graphics), but it’s still probably the most common one seen in user reviews and the like.
Now I’ll admit that I don’t do much driving nowadays because I use mass transit (i.e. the subway), but I did drive a lot once upon a time. And it was quite the pain to deal with all of the extraneous annoyances like traffic, insurance, and gas. Guess which of those problems Gas Logs addresses?
